Removal of Multiple Teeth

Post-Operative Care Following the Removal of Multiple Teeth

Bleeding: A small amount of bleeding is normal. If bleeding occurs, follow the steps outlined in the original text to control it. If bleeding persists, contact our office immediately at (714) 515-6364.

Ice Packs: Use ice packs externally on the cheek near the surgical site for the first 36 hours while you are awake to control swelling.

Mild Discomfort: For mild discomfort, you can use aspirin, Tylenol, or a similar medication, following the dosage instructions in the original text.

Severe Pain: In case of severe pain, use the prescribed medication. If the pain doesn’t subside or increases after 2 days, call our office at (714) 515-6364.

Prescription: If an antibiotic has been prescribed, ensure to complete the course unless you experience an allergic reaction.

Fluids: Stay hydrated by drinking at least six glasses of liquid on the first day.

Diet: Initially restrict your diet to liquids and soft foods that are comfortable to eat. Gradually return to your normal diet as the wounds heal.

First Day: Avoid rinsing your mouth on the first day or while there is bleeding.

After the First Day: From the second day, rinse your mouth with warm salt water every 4 hours and after meals to keep the area clean. Follow the denture care instructions if applicable.

Swelling and Discoloration: Swelling in the operated area and discoloration around the eyes are normal and can be managed as advised in the original text.

Sore Throat: A sore throat is normal and should subside in 2-3 days.

Temperature: A slight elevation in temperature is normal for 24-48 hours. Contact our office if it continues to rise.

Denture Adjustments: If you have received immediate dentures, see your dentist for necessary adjustments within 24-48 hours post-surgery to prevent severe denture sores and facilitate healing.
